Male Fertility

The problem

About 15% of the couples can not achieve spontaneous pregnancy. In half of the cases the cause is male factor and about 85% of these the main cause is mechanical malfunction of the veins in the male reproductive system medically known as Varicocele. Waste products are not drained normally therefore Oxygen and nutrients are not supplied normally to the sperm production site.
Consequently, sperm production is decreased in concentration, motility and mainly in the morphology (normal form).
Under such conditions fertile man deteriorates gradually to infertility state, where abnormal sperm cells in quantity and in quality are not able to fertilize properly the egg.

Who suffers from it?

Around 85% of men with infertility
The Innovative treatment

The Gat Goren Method:

During the procedure, which is performed under local anesthesia, a thin catheter is inserted into the patient’s venous system through a vein in the upper thigh. The catheter is used to inject a fluid which selectively closes off all the malfunctioning veins. Consequently, normal oxygen supply is restored to the testicular tissue following by improvement of their sperm production capacity.

The procedure is done using local anesthesia, with minimal or no discomfort, and without hospitalization. The treatment usually takes 1-2 hours (not including half an hour of resting). Within 48 hours the patient can return to his normal routine and lifestyle.

Results

The treatment enables improve sperm. Hundreds of men treated in the Gat-Goren Method, previously infertile, were able to father children, including some who were considered azoospermic – with no production of sperms.
The improvement in sperm production concentration, motility and morphology is usually evident within 3-6 months.
